Thank you for your email of 14 May 2025, your request for information has been considered
under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (OIA).
On 12 June 2025, I extended the timeframe to respond to your request to 11 July 2025. I
acknowledge and apologise that the response is overdue.
You requested:

Al correspondence between the minister and his office and Blackland PR or
Cosgrove & Partners during the period December 2023 to August 2024

Correspondence between the minister and the prime minister's office regarding
Danone’s concerns on Food Standards Australia New Zealand’s infant formula
standards (this is regarding Written parliamentary question 17079)

Any cabinet paper concerning infant formula and/or the decision to opt out of Food
Standards Australia New Zealand Standard on infant formular
Please find attached my response to the first three parts of your request as Appendices One,
Two and Three.
Some information has been withheld pursuant of section 9(2)(a), 9(2)(b)(ii), 9(2)(ba) and
9(2)(g)(i).
In addition, my office received one email from Blackland PR, on behalf of Danone, entitled
Danone NZ operation Financials, that is commercially sensitive. I have withheld the email in
full under 9(2)(b)(i ).
In relation to the fourth part of your request, I am declining the request under section 18(d) of
the Of icial Information Act, as information is publicly available on the Ministry for Primary
Industries website.
I am satisfied that, in the circumstances of this case, the withholding of the information is not
outweighed by other considerations which render it desirable in the public interest to make
the information available.
