Thank  you  for  contacting  Auckland  Council  on  30  August  2015.  Your  request  for  CCTV  footage  of  the 
intersection  of  Remuera  Road  and  Victoria  Avenue  on  29  August  2015  between  12.30am  and  1.30am  was 
referred to Auckland Transport on 31 August 2015. 
 
The  purpose  of  the  CCTV  surveillance  is  to  better  manage  the  road  network,  not  as  a  primary  security 
tool.   Therefore  the  incident  you  have  mentioned  may  not  have  been  recorded.  Where  footage  of  a  specific 
incident or alleged crime is available, Auckland Transport provides footage to New Zealand Police upon receipt 
of a request from them. 
 
Notwithstanding the above, in this instance a review of the footage reveals that we do not hold any recording of 
the specific incident.  Your  request  is therefore declined under  Section 17(e)  of the LGOIMA  as the information 
you are requesting does not exist. 
 
We  trust  this  information  has  addressed  the  matters  raised  however  you  have  the  right  in  accordance  with 
section  27(3)  of  the  Local  Government  Official  Information  and  Meetings  Act  1987  (LGOIMA)  to  make  a 
complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman if you are not satisfied with our response.
