INFORMATION REQUEST
On 8 May 2025 you asked for information about the Tauranga Airport annual reports for
2022/23/24, statistical information pertaining to Tauranga Airport’s operations for the period of
2024 and a full itemised breakdown of the costs associated with the most recent upgrade or
capital development. Here is our response to your questions:
1. Copies of Tauranga Airport's annual reports for the periods of 2022, 2023 and
2024. Should the reports be prepared on a financial-year basis, I request the
most recent reports available for those years. These documents should
include, but not be limited to, financial statements, summaries of operational
activities, any capital works or upgrades undertaken, governance and
management commentary, as well as relevant strategic or performance
metrics.
Annual reports specific to the Airport are not prepared. The Airport financials are
included in the Economic Development Group of Activities which comprises of the
Economic Development and Airport Activities.
The information can be found in the Economic Development group, in the Groups of
Activities section of the Tauranga City Council Annual reports on the following pages:

Detailed statistical information pertaining to Tauranga Airport’s operations for
the period of 2024. This includes data on aircraft movements, as well as
passenger numbers.
Please see table 1 below for passenger numbers and aircraft movements for the
2024 financial year.

2. A full and itemised breakdown of the costs associated with the most recent
upgrade or capital development projects at Tauranga Airport. This should
encompass the total cost of the project(s), an allocation of expenditure across
the various components or phases, the sources of funding (whether local
government, central government, private investment, or other sources), and a
timeline of the project’s execution.
Information about expenditure on significant capital projects for the Airport can be
found in the Economic Development Group of Activities which comprises of the
Economic Development and Airport Activities, on the following pages:

All projects are loan funded, except the new fire station which is renewals funded.
Loans are paid with surplus funds from Airport operations.
