Thank you for your request of 7 May 2025 for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the OIA):
What advice, if any, has Te Komihana Tauhokohoko given to the Minister of
Social Development within the past year and this year about the projected
impact of 1 April 2025 transmission and lines price rises on beneficiaries and
requests for hardship assistance?
Our response
The Commission can confirm it has not provided specific advice to the Minister of
Social Development about this matter. As such, we are refusing your request under
section 18(e) of the OIA because the information requested does not exist.
However, it may interest you to know that the Commission has provided public
estimates of the price impacts of its decisions which were widely reported in the media.
Our public communications also included links to resources for consumers facing
hardship.
