Thank you for your request dated 5 May 2025 under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) for information relating to Pae Ora. You requested:
*Any legal advice (internal and external), briefing papers, internal memos, reports,
presentations, or correspondence relating to the scope, interpretation, or potential
review of Pharmac’s statutory objective.
*Any conclusions, summaries, or recommendations resulting from any such review or
advice.
Your request has been refused under the fol owing sections of the Act:
section 9(2)(g)(i), to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs through the free
and frank expression of opinion,
section 9(2)(h), to maintain legal professional privilege.
section 9(2)(f)(iv), to maintain the confidentiality of advice tendered by or to Ministers
and officials; and
section 9(2)(ba)(i ), to prevent damage to the public interest
In making our decision, we have considered the public interest considerations in section 9(1) of
the Act. No public interest has been identified that would be sufficient to override the reasons
for withholding that information.
