INFORMATION REQUEST
On 2 May 2025 you asked for information about the parking management item for the meeting
held on the 28th of April. Here is our response to your questions:
1. Details of any planned drawdowns or other payments from parking accounts to
contribute to the council CBD works.
The graph below provides a breakdown of the currently planned drawdown.
Please fol ow the link below for the Agenda of the Ordinary Council Meeting of
Monday, 4 March 2024. Pages 296-312 detail the decision-making process.

2. Any reports or internal analysis produced by staff or consultants (other than
the very high level information in the report presented to elected members) on
the required uplift in parking fees, extension of paid parking into other areas
(the Mount) etc to cover these drawdowns or transfers for CBD works.
Please see Attachment 1 – Review of debt funding proposal relating to Spring Street
and Elizabeth Street carparks. Funding was reviewed with the expectation of an
increase in revenue for city centre parking as development in the city centre reaches
completion between 2027/2028.
Please also refer to paragraph 25 and Table D on pages 302-303 of the provided
Agenda link. This outlines the expected average parking rate increase. This projection
was not based on the assumption that paid parking would extend into areas such as
Mount Maunganui.
