[FYI request #30868 email]
Tēnā koe Stephen,
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act request to the Department of Conservation, received on
30 April 2025 in which you asked:
‘In the decision to grant the WHL Concession the decision maker refers to:
1) The Objections and Submissions Summary Report
2) The Recommendation and Decision Report (RDR) and the Appendices
This request is for those reports and all other reports or items considered by the decision maker
with respect to this decision.’
This letter is to advise you that we are extending the 20 working day period to respond to your
request, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the Official Information Act 1982. We require an
additional 30
days to respond to your request. We wil send you a response no later than 11 July
2025, earlier if possible.
The extension of time is necessary as the consultations necessary to make a decision on the
request mean that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original
time limit.
The length of extension applied is representative of actions required to consult many impacted third
parties on the release of information in scope of your request. In the interests of providing you with
an accurate and prompt response, we wil undertake a tranched approach to your request with
information released as and when it becomes available for release (within the extension timeframe).
Publicly available information
Aspect 1 of your request seeks the
‘Objections and Submissions Summary Report’. For your
reference this document has been proactively released and is available on our website at:
Whakapapa Holdings Ltd - Objections and Submissions summary report
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Of icial Information Act to make a complaint to an
Ombudsman about the extension.

If you wish to discuss this response to your request, please contact
[email address].
