Request for information: COVID19 vaccine Pfizer contract
Thank you for your request dated 27 April 2025 under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) for information relating to topic. Please find a response to each part of your request
below:
1/ Can you confirm that Pharmac is the holder of the Pfizer Corminaty BNT162b2
contract.
I can confirm that Pharmac holds the contract with Pfizer for COVID19 vaccines.
Management of COVID19 vaccines transferred to Pharmac from Ministry of Health on 1 July
2023. You can find more information about Pharmac’s role in the management of COVID19

2/ Can you please release an unredacted copy the Pfizer Corminaty BNT162b2
contract.
This part of your request has been refused under the fol owing sections of the Act:
section 9(2)(b)(i ), to protect the commercial position of the person who supplied the
information, or who is the subject of the information,
section 9(2)(ba)(i ), to prevent damage to the public interest; and
section 9(2)(c), to protect the health or safety of members of the public.
