[FYI request #30825 email]
Reference: 024937
Dear Andrew
RE: Official Information Act Request PMO OIA 399-2024-25
I refer to your request made under the Official Information Act and received on 29 April 2025.
Your request was for:
“Please provide the following information arising from that sentence:
-
were my comments noted by being summarised in a correspondence log or
similar? if so, please provide the actual wording used;
-
what was forwarded to the Prime Minster - my actual email or a summary of it? if a
summary please provide a copy of this;
-
on what date was this forwarded to Prime Minster;
-
on what date did the Prime Minister read the forwarded email or summary/note
-
what instructions or comment, if any, did the Prime Minister make in relation to this
forwarded email or summary/note.”
Subsequent to my 6 May 2025 response to your request, you asked the Office of the
Ombudsmen to investigate my decision on your request as you did not consider my reply to
have answered your questions.
I apologise for any lack of clarity in my original response. As stated in my response, the
Prime Minister receives a significant volume of correspondence from the public and is
therefore unable to personally review every item. I can confirm that the Prime Minister has
not read your emails, nor, to the best of my knowledge, has he been provided with a
summary of these.
All correspondence from the public is logged by staff in this office and, from time to time, the
Prime Minister will be verbally briefed on emerging themes. While it is possible the Prime
Minister has been briefed on themes related to your correspondence, there is no written
record available to confirm this.
For completeness, I am therefore refusing the parts of your request for any summaries of
your emails, the dates upon which your emails were forwarded to the Prime Minister, the
dates upon which the Prime Minister read your emails or summaries thereof, and any
instructions or comment from the Prime Minister in relation to your emails under section
18(e) of the Act as the information does not exist.
Yours sincerely,
Cameron Burrows
