1. Your information request dated 12 April 2025 refers:
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I am requesting all information relating to any security
incidences at Wel ington Domestic Airport from the week starting Monday April 7 to Friday April 11
2025. Security incidences include breaches but also any inappropriate behaviour by passengers that
may not lead to a breach as such, but may require staff intervention or attention.
This request includes, but is not limited to, email, text and written communication.
1. We can advise that the Authority has not recorded any breaches or inappropriate behaviour
by passengers between 7 April and 11 April 2025. However, please find below a list of five
incidents that match the dates and location in your request.

verification on [Date]. AKL CCTV reviewed

[Staff] with invalid AIC located during NPS
Roving [Location]. ASO scans AIC of
[Peron's Name] and it shows as invalid
despite expiry date not yet reached. TL is
contacted and advises to go to IOC to get
sorted. IOC informs there is a unique issue
and needs to contact AIC helpdesk. Issue is
Airport
resolved and AIC able to scan as valid. No
Identity Card Wellington further action.

2. CAA can advise that it received a media enquiry on 11 April 2025 regarding an allegation
about a government minister not following security screening procedures at Wellington
Airport on 10 April 2025. CAA reviewed CCTV footage of the screening point at the time that
the reported observations were made and found that nothing occurred that presented any
risk to aviation security. Al normal screening procedures and instructions were fol owed by
al passengers present.
3. We have withheld personally identifiable information to protect the privacy of natural
persons under section 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act. We do not consider in the
circumstances of the present case, there are public interest factors that outweigh the
withholding of this information.
4. You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
