Thank you for your email of 10 April 2025 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) requesting the
following information:
I noted, you have recently call for nomination for Teaching Council of Aoteroa New Zealand

1. May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
2. A copy of your ad and position description as well.
3. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you
have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc
for your role.
4. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
5. Also, can I request to view the appointment letter if there is one sent to the previous
appointee. I am happy for you to remove all the personal information.
Your request has been considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) and has been
numbered for the purposes of responding.
In response to
parts one, two and five of the request, please find the following four documents
attached as
Appendix A:
1. The New Zealand Gazette Notice published 28 February 2025
2. A copy of the advertisement placed on the Ministry website on 12 March 2025
3. A copy of the position description
4. A sample copy of the appointment letter.
I am refusing
parts three and four of your request under section 18(g) of the Act, as the
appointment process is stil in progress, so the information requested is not held by the Ministry at
this point in time, and I have no grounds for believing that it is either held by, or connected more
closely with the functions of, another department or organisation subject to the Act.
