Thank you for your Official Information Act (Act) request received by the Department of Internal
Affairs (Department) on 9 April 2025.
You requested –
Grants awarded in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 financial years through COGS, Lottery
Community, or other DIA-managed funds, to Canterbury-based organisations providing:

In response to your request, I can provide you with the following information.
Please find attached alongside this letter the following appendices:
Appendix A – ‘Lottery National Community Grants for groups based in the Canterbury area’ These are Lottery grants that cover more than one region. However, for the purpose of this
request, we have only provided the organisations based in Canterbury. It may be useful for you
to know that some of these organisations provide services to other regions too, for example –
West Coast, or Nelson Marlborough area.
Appendix B – ‘Lottery Community Canterbury / Kaikoura’ These are grants allocated which benefit the Canterbury area. For the purposes of this request,
grants which only benefit Kaikoura have been excluded from this information.
Appendix C – ‘Community Organisation Grants Scheme for Social Services in Canterbury’ This is a copy of the grants from the Community Organisations Grants Schemes (COGS) for the
Christchurch/Canterbury area.
