[FYI request #30623 email]
Dear John
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act request, received on 4 April 2025. You
requested the following:
I noted, you have recently call for nomination for NZ POST BOARD-
https://www.boardappointments.co.nz/Vacancies
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have
call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad as well. Also,
how many applications you have received from the public and how many you
have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women
etc for your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have
interviewed. Also, can I request to view the appointment letter if there is one sent
to the previous appointee. I am happy for you to remove all the personal
information.
The call for nominations for the NZ Post Board vacancy opened in March 2025.
Nominations were sought from the Treasury’s candidate database, nominating
agencies, LinkedIn, the Super Diversity Institute and Community Governance NZ
website and the NZ Post Board. The Position Specification is attached with this
response.
85 self-nominations were received, including three from Ministry for Women and one
from Ministry of Ethnic Communities. There was also one National party nomination,
making the total number of nominations 86.
As the appointment round is stil under active consideration, I am unable to indicate the
number of candidates who are shortlisted, interviewed or have been provided with an
appointment letter. As per your request, I have decided to release a copy of an
appointment letter which was sent to a previous appointee. Some information from the
document has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act, to
protect the privacy of natural persons.
In making my decision, I have considered the public interest considerations in section
9(1) of the Official Information Act.
