Thank you for your Official Information Act (Act) request received by the Department of Internal
Affairs (Department) on 4 April 2025.
You requested –
1. Can you please provide a table that has the following details for the citizenship
applications by grant submitted from 1 March 2025 to 31 March 2025?
− Date Received at DIA
− Date Processing
− Date of Outcome
− Outcome/Status
− Paper or online application
2. Could you please also provide a breakdown of all of the citizenship applications by grant
you have received from 1 March 2025 to 31 March 2025 by grouping them up by country
of birth, current work stream of the application, and each application's current status
(Approved, Processing, Unassigned, Withdrawn, etc.)?
In response to your request, I can provide you with the following information.
Question One
Please refer to Appendix A, attached to this letter. This data was collated on 1 May 2025 and is
accurate at this date.
Question Two
Please refer to Appendix B, attached to this letter. This data was collated on 6 May 2025 and is
accurate at this date.
You will notice that two additional queues are listed. This is due to a system upgrade
implemented on 17 March 2025, which introduced a new citizenship by grant queue structure.
As this information may be of interest to other members of the public, the Department has
decided to proactively release a copy of this response on the DIA website. All requestor data,
including your name and contact details, will be removed prior to release. The released
response will be made available here:
