Thank you for your email of 30 March 2025 to the Social Investment Agency (SIA) requesting, under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
 
Al  contractors and consultants that have been engaged since the agencies establishment. Please 
share the name of the contract, provider, the service being delivered, and the value of the contract. In 
addition, where possible please publish the hourly rates being charged. 
 
In addition to this, please can you share the decision-making logic for the use of contract resource 
compared to that of internal, fixed term, or secondment type engagements.

Since its establishment on 1 July 2024, SIA has been setting up a range of new functions. We have 
endeavoured to obtain capability through the use of fixed-term contracts and secondments where possible. 
However, at some points it has been more suitable to engage consultants or contractors, particularly when 
the business need is highly specialised, or there has been a need for additional short-term resourcing. 
 
Regarding section 9(1) of the OIA, I do not consider that the withholding of this information is outweighed 
by public interest considerations in making the information available.
