Thank you for your email of 27 March 2025 to the Prime Minister requesting information 
under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). On 7 April 2025under section 14(b) of the 
OIA, the following part of your request was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 
and Trade (the Ministry) for response: 
 
“the details of the procedure and criteria for selecting these individuals [for the 
Community Delegation].”  
 
Delegates were selected to ensure the delegation represented the diversity of 
New Zealand’s Indian community and alignment to the Mission’s objectives and focus 
areas. The criteria included gender balance, regional representation, and the profile of 
individual’s within the Indian-New Zealand community.  
 
This criteria refers to the Community Delegation that accompanied the Prime Minister. 
The details of the representatives of Ethnic Communities, who travelled as part of the 
Community Delegation, are the same as above.
