Thank you for your email of 25 March 2025 in which you request the following under the
Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):
“Minister Paula Bennett travelled to the USA to meet with government officials and
to visit the United Nations on government business in April 2016.
I would like to know who accompanied her and in what capacity, whether ‘ministers
or employee's or consultants or Public Relations personnel under contract with a
Crown Agency or Crown employees whose role would be to assist in any manner
with her visit, including any representatives from Parliamentary services and
Commissioners for the Environment and any cultural advisors or performers.”
The then Minister for Climate Change, Hon Paula Bennett, travelled to the United States
on 22 April 2016. She was accompanied by:

Kay Harrison, Director Climate Change, Ministry for the Environment;
•
Anna Broadhurst, Lead Adviser on Climate Change, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade; and
•
Clark Hennesy, Private Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
No consultants travelled with her or accompanied her to the signing ceremony or any
other engagements in New York. The role of officials was to support her various
engagements and programme.
