Re: Auckland storm events 2023 - flood aerials
I refer to your request for information, which we received on 20 March 2025, about Auckland
storm events 2023 flood aerial.
The specific details of your request and our response is below.
1. Did Auckland Council capture any aerial photography for flood events in 2023? If so,
could you provide the dates and a general geographic overview of the areas covered?
Auckland Council did not capture aerial photography during or following the 2023
severe weather events.

2. Has Auckland Council obtained aerial photography in 2024 or 2025 as part of the
Property Categorisation and Resolution policy for storm-affected areas? If yes, can you
share the dates and locations?
Auckland Council did not undertake aerial photography as part of the property categorisation
and resolution of storm affected areas process. Therefore, in accordance with section 17(e)
of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, the information you have
requested cannot be provided to you on the basis that it does not exist or despite reasonable
efforts to locate it cannot be found.
3. Are there any current plans to make these aerials publicly available, such as through
Geomaps or another platform?
