Thank you for requesting the below information under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act).
Dear Health Quality and Safety Commission,
I have recently come across an interesting tab on the Atlas of Healthcare: Surgical
procedures single map [Tonsillectomy (0-14 years), rate per 1,000]

I note that there are various reasons why this procedure is usually performed on
children - and why this age groups is the focus of HQSC. I am curious if you have
the data to perform the data for all age groups (including adolescents/adults 15-
64)?
I am interested in doing a similar analysis to 'to explore the use of tonsillectomy to
treat sleep-disordered breathing and recurrent acute tonsillitis in
adolescents/adults.'
Yours faithfully,
SAMCNZ
In response to your request, Te Tāhū Hauora does not have the data for all age groups
(including adolescents/adults 15-64) and therefore your request is refused under Section
18(g) of the Act.
