Dear Andy
Thank you for your email of 10 March 2025 requesting the following under the Official information
Act 1982 (the Act):
1.
A copy of the list of appointments that you submitted to the Cabinet Office for
progression in 2025.
2.
Any and all relevant communications, including but not limited to emails, texts,
memos, letters, and other forms of correspondence or records, regarding
appointments scheduled for 2025
In December 2023, agencies were asked to submit organisation forms to the APH Secretary
through their Ministers by the end of January 2025. Appointing agencies also had the option to
submit information directly through AppointNet.
My office has identified 19 documents within scope of this part of your request, as outlined in the
document table below. These documents reflect information held by my office and do not include
any material submitted directly by agencies via AppointNet, as that information is held by the
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, not by me. I am releasing all 19 documents in full.
On 18 March 2025, my office contacted you to discuss refining this part of your request due to
the large volume of material involved, but we did not receive a response.
Following an initial search, my office identified approximately 1,237 emails potentially in scope of
your request. This does not include additional material such as text messages, briefings, or
letters, which would further increase the volume of relevant information.
Due to the substantial collation and research required to identify all the information within scope,
I am refusing this part of your request under section 18(f) of the Act.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Office of the Ombudsman of my
decision relating to this request, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant details
can be found on their website at:
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
Please contact my office if you have any questions about my response.
Yours sincerely
Hon Chris Bishop
