Subject: Release of ERP2 today
Hi everyone,
I was surprised to see ERP2 released today when I understood from your Minister that you
would liaise with us prior (I understand that our communications lead Liam reached out
after I last spoke to the Minister) to its release with an embargoed copy so we could issue
supportive PR.
This was on the presumption that it dealt with carbon capture and storage (which it does),
and that we are the leading energy sector advocacy group advocating for the use of CCUS.
Instead, you get this headline from Newsroom (Govt’s final climate plan relies on unproven
technology), where we would have been able to mitigate criticism through our
commentary.
I’d be grateful to understand why we were not in the loop on its release.
