OIA 24-25-49: Funding for Global Women Organisation
Thank you for your email of 8 March 2025 to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE),
making a request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). You requested the
following information:
You are listed as a support partner for the Global women organisation.
Please advise your funding to this organisation over the last 4 financial years, including the
current.
As this is not a commercial organisation I don't believe that there is any commercial sensitivity
with this information. I also note that it is in the public interest to be aware of your organisation
discretionary expenditure in view of the current fiscal 'climate'
The answer to your question is as follows.
NZTE is a member of and has a partnership agreement with the Global Women Organisation.
NZTE pays an annual membership fee in addition to the partnership agreement.
We are withholding our partnership agreement funding contribution to the Global Women
Organisation, under section 9(2)(b)(i ) – commercial position of a third party. To make this
information available would be likely to unreasonably prejudice the commercial position of the
Global Women Organisation.
NZTE publicly disclose our corporate memberships and total expenditure as part of the Select
Commit ee process. I refer you to NZTE’s 2023/24 Annual Review Appendices Q45:
Memberships (pg. 11) and NZTE’s 2023/2024 Annual Review Responses to Q98 (pg. 77). You
