Thank you for your Official Information Act request received on 3 March 2025. You
requested:
How many Ombudsman complaints have you been notified of since December 2023?
How many were regarding your office's handling of OIAs?
What processes, if any, have been implemented to ensure you are meeting your legal
obligations under the OIA?
How many judgements have the Ombudsman made against your office?
The Ombudsman publishes half-yearly data on complaints made in regards to OIA requests.
The data covers the number of complaints received under the OIA, as wel as the number of
complaints investigated by the Ombudsman.
The number of complaints I have been notified of, the reasons for the complaints, and the
outcome of the investigations

Therefore, this part of your request is refused under section 18(d) of the OIA, as the
information is publicly available.
For the period 1 January 2025 to 3 March 2025, I have been notified of one Ombudsman
complaint.
I understand that the investigation into this complaint is ongoing. Under section 2(1)(i) of the
OIA, information contained in any correspondence or communication which has taken place
between the office of the Ombudsmen and any public service agency or Minister of the
Crown or organisation and which relates to an investigation conducted by an Ombudsman
under the OIA is not Official Information. Therefore, at this time I cannot provide any details
of this complaint.
My office has processes to log and respond to OIA requests to ensure responses are sent
without undue delay and in line with the spirit of the OIA. These are designed to ensure we
meet our legal obligations. We review and update our OIA processes as necessary.

This reply addresses the information you requested. Under section 28(3) of the OIA, you
