Official Information Act request dated 21 February 2025  
  
We refer to your email dated 21 February  2025 requesting information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). The responses to your specific questions are 
set out below.  
  
Request One: Is a fee being paid for Miriama Kamo's upcoming interview the Tipene's? 
  
Response One:  Marae  is  neither  produced  nor funded by TVNZ.  This  request is 
accordingly declined on the basis of section 18(e) of the Act; the information is not 
held by TVNZ.  
  
Request Two: I refer you to an email from Nevak Rogers dated July 25th 2025 in a 
previous OIA request - In which Rogers states "It was a couple of years ago - Keen to 
understand why it has come up again". Please provide the date and communications 
when TVNZ was first made aware there was any issue with bodies being stuffed into 
rubbish bags or an issue with Fiona Bakulich? 
 
Response Two:  TVNZ was first made aware that there was an issue relating to an 
employee of Tipene Funerals  on  31 August 2023.  The  information  was  conveyed 
verbal y, and there are no  responsive  written communications to disclose beyond 
those provided to you by way of response to your request of 5 August 2024. 
   
Request Three: Please provide any PR communications advice, communications or 
talking points TVNZ has provided to the Tipene's specifical y concerning the above 
incident. 
 
Request Four: Please provide all communications between Annabel e Lee-Mather and 
TVNZ concerning Fiona Bakulich and the bodies in rubbish bags incident or any other 
inappropriate behaviour by Bakulich.   
 
Response Three and Four: Al  documents responsive to these requests have already 
been provided to you by way of response to your request of 5 August 2024.  
  
We trust this information assists. If you are dissatisfied with this response, section 28 
of the Act sets out the circumstances in which you may make a complaint to the 
Ombudsman in order to seek an investigation and review.
