I refer to your email of 19 February 2025 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) requesting the
following information:
Please provide communications between the Ministry and Compass Group since the 2025
school year began about the provision of the service, and any communications within the
Ministry about the same.
Following investigation by the Office of the Ombudsman into the Ministry’s decision on your
request, and due to the passage of time, your request has been reconsidered under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act).
We have identified 100 email chains, and their associated attachments, in scope of your request.
I am releasing these in part as
Appendix A. Unless already publicly available, I am withholding
names and contact details under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect the privacy of natural
persons. Information that is out of scope of your request has also been redacted.
As required under section 9(1) of the Act, I have considered the public interest in releasing the
information withheld. I do not consider that the public interest considerations favouring the release
of this information are sufficient to outweigh the need to withhold it at this time.
