Official Information Act request: Workplace bullying and sexual harassment
Thank you for your emails to the Ministry of Justice (the Ministry) of 16 February 2025
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) information regarding workplace
bullying and sexual harassment. Specifically, you requested:
For OIA 119450:
Please supply all information relating to the issues of workplace bullying and/or sexual
harassment at the Waitangi Tribunal since 2016 within the records of the Chief
Executive.
For OIA 119451:
Please supply all information relating to the issues of workplace bullying and/or sexual
harassment at the Waitangi Tribunal since 2016 as they relate to the records of Chief
Operating Officer, Operations & Service Delivery.
This response also incorporates a request you made to the Department of Internal Affairs on
24 February 2025, which the Ministry is answering on their behalf (
see Workplace bullying and
sexual harassment - a Official Information Act request to Department of Internal Affairs - FYI).
That request asked:
Please supply all information relating to workplace bullying and/or sexual harassment
at the Waitangi Tribunal since 2016
I refer to the Ministry’s letter to you dated 8 November 2022 (our reference OIA 99936). At
that time, you made a similar request relating to the issue of workplace bullying and sexual
harassment within the Waitangi Tribunal Unit.
The Ministry informed you then that the only information within scope of your request was in
the Ministry’s previous responses to you on this same subject. The Ministry also told you that
there was no further information in relation to this matter that had not already been disclosed
to you.
I can confirm that the Ministry’s position has not changed since 2022, and we do not hold any
further relevant information relating to workplace bullying and sexual harassment at the
Waitangi Tribunal in that time.
