Dear fyi requester,
Thank you for your request for information under the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA), received by the Gore District Council on 12 February 2025. You have
requested the following information:
1. the number of parking or other road user related infringement notices and fines issued for the
2022-23 2023- 24 and 2024-25 (YTD) financial years;
2. the amount of revenue received parking or other road user related infringement notices and
fines for the 2022-23 2023- 24 and 2024-25 (YTD) financial years;
3. the date when the Council's roading bylaw expired;
4. which regulatory instrument you are using to lawful y collect those roading related fines; and
5. how much revenue was obtained from people paying for parking for the 2022-23 2023- 24 and
2024-25 (YTD) financial years.
The Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act requires that we write to advise you of
our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. The
Council advises that it will:
Grant your request for information items 1, 2 & 5 above; and
Due to further advice being sought about these parts of the bylaw at present, refuse your
request for information items 3 & 4 above pursuant to section 6(c) & 7(2)(g) of LGOIMA.
In terms of information items 1, 2 & 5 pursuant to section 13(1A) LGOIMA and the Council's fees and
charges policy, the Council has decided to charge $255.00 for the time required to retrieve this
information, compile and prepare it for release. This charge has been calculated with reference to the
estimated time needed, namely four hours of Council officer time at a rate of $85.00 per hour (first
hour free).
Under section 13(4) LGOIMA the Council requires this charge to be paid in advance before the relevant
information is compiled and provided. Please see payment methods available.
