Thank you for your email on 3 February 2025, asking Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora for the 
following under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act):  
Please provide a copy of the new national Student Clinical Placement Access Agreement 
with any associated policies and referenced/annexed documents. 
 A draft copy is acceptable if it reflects what has been sent to education providers.

Since the date of your request, the information you have requested is now available online at: A 
new system for student placements – Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. 
The new student placement agreement is a national legal agreement and replaces over 400 
varying contracts between the former DHBs and education providers. The agreement helps Health 
NZ and our education partners establish a consistent approach to quality, safety (including 
screening and onboarding), information, planning, and enable operational efficiencies such as 
streamlined business processes, documentation and equity. 
The agreement provides national oversight and wil  be implemented locally to ensure smooth 
coordination and visibility in clinical service teams within Health NZ as well as across education 
providers. Placement detail schedules wil  continue to be developed locally and agreed annually.
