Thank you for your email of 4 February 2025 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment 
(MBIE) requesting, under thve Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
 
         I write to request a copy of the investigation report pertaining a visit that MBIE official(s) made to 
investigate employment practices at Avtar Contracting Ltd (operating at 214 Glenbrook/Waiuku 
Road) on the 7th of june 2017. 
 
Please include any additional information that the Ministry holds in relation this visit or any 
subsequent visits or investigations that relate to the investigative visit on 7 June 2017 or related 
complaints and allegations. 
 
Please find the requested documents enclosed in this response. Please note that some information within 
the documents has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act to protect the privacy of natural 
persons, including that of deceased natural persons. 
 
Please note that one document containing information about the Labour Inspectorate investigation plan 
has been withheld ful y under section 18(a) of the Act, by virtue of section 6(c) of the Act, that making 
available of that information would be likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the 
prevention, investigation and detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial. 
 
I do not consider that the withholding of this information is outweighed by public interest considerations 
in making the information available.
