[FYI request #29902 email]
Dear john luke
Thank you for your email of 27 January 2025 requesting information relating to the
Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures fund Investment Advisory Panel. Your request has been
considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
You requested the following:
I noted, SFF Futures Investment Advisory Panel https://www.mpi.govt.nz/funding-
rural-support/sustainable-food-fibre-futures/about-sustainable-food-and-
fibrefutures/sff-futures-investment-advisory-panel/
How do you call for nomination for your panel member and on what platform you
have call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
May I request a copy of the term of reference of this panel and their pay rate.
May I also seek a copy of the appointment letter sent to the appointee (one example
is sufficient), feel free to redact any personal information.
We do not call for public nominations for panel members for the SFF Futures Investment Advisory
Panel. Panel members are appointed by the Minister of Agriculture after consulting with his
Cabinet colleagues.
A revised Terms of Reference for the panel is currently being developed. The Investment
Advisory Panel board member fees are in line with the Cabinet Fees Framework, which can
be found at https://www.dpmc.govt.nz/sites/default/files/2024-09/co-22-2-revised-fees-
framework-v2.pdf.
A copy of an appointment letter sent to an appointee is attached as Appendix One. Some
information has been withheld pursuant to section 9(2)(a) of the OIA –
to protect the privacy
of natural persons.
MPI is satisfied that, in the circumstances of this case, the withholding of the information
under section 9 of the OIA is not outweighed by other considerations which render it
desirable in the public interest to make the information available.
