Official Information Act request for documents received by Melissa Lee to formally 
notify her she is no longer a Minister 
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), received 
on 27 January 2025. You requested: 
 
“What documents has Melissa Lee received to formally notify her she is not longer 
minister, would she get a formal letter to remove her from the office, if so, please provide 
copies of documents related to removing her from the office.” 
 
I believe the information you have requested is more closely connected to the functions of 
the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Christopher Luxon. Accordingly, I have decided to transfer your 
request to the Prime Minister under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act. 
 
The Prime Minister has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this transfer to 
make a decision on your request.
