Thank you for your email on 23 January 2025 asking Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora for the 
following under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act):  
“Could you please tell me the number of Puberty Blockers prescribed to minors in NZ by 
Ethnicity. Namely,  NZ European, NZ Maori, Pacific Islands, Asian, African, Middle Eastern 
Other” 
Response 
Data on the number of prescriptions of puberty blockers that are dispensed is collected in the 
Pharmaceutical Collection. Ethnicity data is not col ected as part of this data set.  
As such, your request for this information is refused in full under section 18(e) of the Act as this 
information does not exist.
