Official Information Act request: Immigration & Protection Tribunal
Thank you for your email of 23 January 2025 requesting, under the Official Information Act
1982 (the Act), information relating to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal. Specifically,
you requested:
I noted, you have recently call for nomination for your Immigration and Protection
Tribunal - Full-time Member

May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call
for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have
received from the public and how many you have received from other nominating
agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for each location of your role
(separate to Auckland, Hamilton and Whangarei). May I also seek a copy of the
appointment letter sent to the previous appointee (one example is sufficient) , feel
free to redact any personal information. Also do you issue warrant card to the
Member, if so, an example of the warrant card would be much appreciated. Further,
how many people you want to recruit for this round.
Your request is due for response tomorrow. Unfortunately, the Ministry of Justice (the
Ministry) server identified your request as spam and your bone fide request was not
identified until today. We are working with ICT Security to identify what has happened to
cause this issue. A temporary fix has been put in place.
Pursuant to section 15(1) of the Act, the Ministry has decided to grant your request.
However, it wil take us some time to prepare the information for release. We wil send you
the information as soon as possible. I apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause
you.
