Dear James
Official Information Request
Reference MOSR 2025-0122 / WILLIS 930
I refer to your official information request dated 25 January 2025 for:
1. How many OIAs has your Office received between October 1 2024 and December
31 2024? Can you please note how many of those were transferred from other
departments, agencies, or Ministers?
2. What was the average number of days taken to respond to requests?
3. How many requests have been extended?
4. How many requests have been responded to after 20 days? Can you please note
how many of those were not extended?
5. How many requests do you have that are overdue as of the date of this request?
(i.e. have not been extended but have not been responded to in the statutory 20
days from receipt).
Part one
The previous Minister for the Public Service received 19 Official Information Act 1982 (OIA)
requests between 1 October 2024 and 31 December 2024. Of these 19 requests, five were
transferred from other departments, agencies or Ministers.
Part two
The office of the previous Minister for the Public Service does not keep a record of the
number of working days it takes to respond to OIA requests specific to the Public Service
portfolio. As such I am unable to provide the average days for these OIA requests.
I am therefore refusing this part of your request under section 18(e) of the OIA, on the
grounds that the requested information does not exist.
Part three
Of the 19 requests received, none were extended.

Part four
The office of the previous Minister for the Public Service does not keep a record of the
number of working days it takes to respond to OIA requests specific to the Public Service
portfolio.
I am therefore refusing this part of your request under section 18(e) of the OIA, on the
grounds that the requested information does not exist.
Part five
As at 22 January 2025, there was one overdue OIA request for the Public Service portfolio.
