Kia ora koutou
Just working on an action plan for our Future Buller team (Di, Tracy, Tom and I) after the last few
days of community drop in events.
One of the items on my list is to reach out to Ellen who I’ve been having conversations with at
the News to update her on how our first few community sessions went. Hopefully we can get
another story written about the productive conversations we had over the weekend with some
communities, and how we’d love to see a better turn-out at our next events in Dec.
From a communications/reputational perspective, the below is frustrating but doesn’t warrant a
direct response. They’ve not even correctly identified the project as Future Buller, or noted our
collaboration with the University of Canterbury.
I’ll share our team’s next steps in an email shortly.

Hi all,
Please see below letter. While annoying and insulting from a professional perspective, I am also
concerned what this does to community confidence…
Thoughts on a response?
