Agnes/Josh By email: [FYI request #29695 email]
Tēnā koe Agnes/Josh,
I am writing in reference to your official information request to the CAA for the following –
"can you provide all instances where 'UAP' or 'unidentified aerial phenomena' is contained in
the description as wel Also, I note you have not provided all information contained in each
reporting, such as time of reporting. Are you able to provide the information left out?"
Our Decision:
Please find the requested information attached to this email, searched for using occurrences
containing ‘UAP’ or ‘unidentified aerial phenomena’ in the description with the inclusion of
time of reporting.
Please note Aviation Related Concerns (ARC) can be reported by anyone. One does not have
to be involved in the aviation community to report something they see or hear that they
think might harm aviation safety or security, or that might be breaching Civil Aviation Rules.
Therefore, the list of occurrences/ARC released under this OIA does not reflect the facts of
the incident as reported to the CAA to be true or established nor does it reflect any outcome
of the investigation, if any that was conducted into the incident.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
