Thank you for your email of 20 December 2024 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council
(the Council) requesting information regarding storm water overflow calculations. Your request has
been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).
Please find my response below.

1)  Please provide a copy of ALL the calculations, that informed the designer, and WCC's
decisions, on the stormwater considerations for this modification of the kerb and channel.

2)  Please ensure the inclusion of any calculations that demonstrate how the results compare
with the City Corporation's specific Code and clauses for stormwater management.

3)  Please provide any information that indicate these calculations were completed to ensure
protection of adjacent property from inundation or damage.

No calculations were carried out to guide the designer or the Council's decisions concerning
the stormwater considerations for the kerb and channel modification. For this reason,
questions one, two, and three are refused under section 17(g)(ii) of the LGOIMA, the
information requested is not held by the local authority and the person dealing with the
request has no grounds for believing that the information is connected more closely with the
functions of another local authority, or a department or Minister of the Crown or organisation.

4)  Please provide copies of any correspondence, notes, documents, or records of ANY kind that
relate to stormwater concerns, or issues, with this intervention at the bottom of St Mary St.

Please see the information attached as an appendix, note some information has been
withheld under section 7(2)(a) of the LGOIMA, to protect the privacy of natural persons,
including that of deceased natural persons.

5)  What was the grand total cost of these works at the bottom of St Mary St? i.e. from original
concept to final engineering sign-off of the installed structure (including all contractor and
WCC time and materials, etc).

The total cost for the project was $61,415, which includes $51,808 for construction and
$9,607 for design.

As per section 7(1) of the LGOIMA, I do not consider that in the circumstances of this response, the
withholding of this information is outweighed by the other considerations which render it desirable to
in the public interest to make the information available.

You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(1) of the LGOIMA, to request an
investigation and review of the Council’s decision to withhold and refuse information by the
