Your request for official information, reference: HNZ00077970
Thank you for your email on 3 February 2025, asking Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora for the
following under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“Please provide the minutes of Te Whatu Ora board/commissioner meetings. Provide the
minutes of the national clinical governance committee meetings.”
Response
I apologise for the delay in providing our response. The time taken is not what we aspire to. This is
something we are working to get on top of as we deal with a high volume of requests and the
understandably high public interest in our work.
For the sake of clarity, I wil address each section of your request in turn.
Please provide the minutes of Te Whatu Ora board/commissioner meetings.
The above section of your request is refused under section 18(f) of the Act as the information is
very broad, and substantial manual research and collation would be required to bring together all
documents within scope of your request.
I have considered whether fixing a charge for the supply of the information or extending the
timeframe for response would enable Health NZ to respond. I do not consider that either option
would remove the impact that supplying the information would have on our other operations.
We initially believed that we would be able to provide you with the requested information, however,
further scoping and discussion identified the sheer volume of information that would be in scope of
this section of your request. We should have contacted you around the possibilities of refining this
section of your request, I apologise that we did not do this.
Board meetings and minutes from the former Health NZ Board are available on our website and
maybe of interest to you. They are available here:
https:/ www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/publications/board-meeting-minutes-from-the-former-health-nz-
board.
Provide the minutes of the national clinical governance committee meetings.
On 19 February 2025, we contacted you around the possibility of refining the section of your
request relating to ‘National Clinical Governance Commit ee meetings’. As Health NZ is yet to
receive a response from you, your request for this information is refused under section 18(f) of the
Act, as it requires substantial collation and research.
As above, I have considered whether fixing a charge for the supply of the information or extending
the timeframe for response would enable Health NZ to respond. I do not consider that either option
would remove the impact that supplying the information would have on our other operations.
If you were to make a request for this information for a reduced period of time, or set number of
meetings, we would consider this as a new request and respond accordingly.
