Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-037170 Thank you for your request of 13 December 2024, asking for the following information under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

Can you provide a filtered for motorcycles version of this dataset for the same time period:
ACC Motor Vehicle Accident Data - Dataset - data.govt.nz - discover and use data
2)
Can you confirm whether this is all motorcycles or whether this sub-categorised further (eg.
>600cc, <600cc, moped).
3)
Can you also confirm whether you hold the liable party in the accident (ie. was the
motorcyclist to blame).

Please refer to the notes in the attachment for details about the data used for this request. The data is
for all motorcycles and is not sub categorised by engine size.
ACC does not record information on liable parties as we are a no-fault scheme. This information may
be recorded by the New Zealand Transport Agency.
Claim counts fewer than four
Some values in the tables provided only indicate that the claim count is fewer than four (denoted as
<4). In other instances, values are suppressed and denoted as two dots (..). This limits the potential
for particular individuals or matters specific to certain individuals from being identified. This decision
has been made under section 9(2)(a) of the Act. In making this decision, we have considered the
public interest in making the information available and have determined that it does not outweigh the
need to protect our clients’ privacy.
