Thank you for your email, received on 22 November 2024, to Oranga Tamariki—
Ministry for Children (Oranga Tamariki) requesting copies of communications from the
Acting Chief Executive to all staff. Your request has been considered under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act).
You have requested:
I would like to request all communications sent from the acting CE for Oranga
Tamariki since he was appointed to the Ministry to all staff, in scope of this
request I would like to see, large group emails to specific and all teams, such as
‘all staff’, ‘national office’. Also in scope I would like to see all staff
communications from the acting CE such as Te Pae, end of week emails, and
communications written by other teams for his messaging to staff.
Andrew Bridgman stepped in as Acting Chief Executive on occasion in August and
September 2024, prior to taking up the position in a longer-term capacity on 23
September 2024, while Chief Executive Chappie Te Kani takes medical leave.
Al correspondence sent by Andrew as Acting Chief Executive to all Oranga Tamariki
staff has been collated and is attached as Appendix One.
Please note that one such email has been partially redacted under section 9(2)(a), to
protect the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons.
Oranga Tamariki may make the information contained in this letter available to the
public by publishing this on our website with your personal details removed.
