Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 11 December 2024. You 
asked: 
 
1.  Please provide documents relating to the police decision to prosecute Carl 
Longshaw for manslaughter. I presume there are some level of planning documents 
that are prepared by police in preparing the charge and then proceeding with the 
charge. 
2.  Please provide documents relating to the police decision to prosecute Carl 
Longshaw for neglect. I presume there are some level of planning documents that 
are prepared by police in preparing the charge and then proceeding with the charge. 
 
Documents relating to the decision to charge Mr Longshaw are subject to legal privilege, 
accordingly your request has been refused in full under section 9(2)(h) of the OIA, as the 
withholding of the information is necessary to maintain legal professional privilege.
