Thank you for your official information request received on 20 November 2024 for: 
“the number of sheep and beef farms sold to overseas purchasers from 2022 to present, 
broken down by year?” 
The number of overseas investment consents granted by year which included land used 
for sheep and beef farming were: 
• 2022: 39 consents
• 2023: 24 consents
• 2024: 33 consents.
Please find attached a list of overseas investment consents granted from 2022 which 
included land for sheep and beef farming.  This list also includes a link to each decision 
summary on our website.
