Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 18 November 2024.
Your request is as fol ows:
“Please can you provide the fol owing: * The number of occasions where a station
had no staff "On Duty" or "On Call" through out any time of the day. * Please just
list the number of days where this occurred during March, April and May 2024.
* Provide this information for the fol owing stations:
Takaka, Wakefield, Murchison, Havelock, Picton, Reefton, Ross, Franz Josef,
Haast, Hanmer Springs, Cheviot, Amberley, Oxford, Lyttelton, Akaroa, Darfield,
Leeston, Methven, Geraldine, Fairlie, Lake Tekapo, Twizel, Waimate.
Some of these stations, such as Lyttelton, Darfield etc, I am aware maybe
considered as covered by a group of staff out of a area station such as "Selwyn
District" or "Christchurch South", I would stil like to know when that station does
not have staff local y attributed to that station. “
Attached is a copy of a spreadsheet detailing the number of days staff were absent from
stations detailed in your request over the specified three-month period.
Information relating specifically to when stations do not have staff rostered is withheld
under section 6(c) of the OIA, as the making available of the information would be likely
to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and
detection of offences.
Police considers the interests requiring protection by withholding the information are not
outweighed by any public interest in release of the information.
