[FYI request #29237 email]
Tēnā koe Micky
Thank you for your Official Information Act request to the Department of Conservation,
received on 18 November 2024 in which you asked:
‘Can you please provide the following information covering the years 2022, 2023 & 2024:
-
All Emails & Documents to do with the Earthquake Strengthening of the Chateau
Tongariro.
-
Including all internal emails between DOC and CBRE Ltd.
By now DOC should have some indication of 'exactly' what work needs to be done to
strengthen the Chateau. That information should have been released to the public as
soon as it became available.’
This letter is to advise you that we are extending the 20 working day period to respond to
your request, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the Official Information Act 1982. We
require an additional 11
days to respond to your request. We will send you a response no
later than 22 January 2025, earlier if possible.
The extension of time is necessary as the consultations necessary to make a decision on the
request mean that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit. The length of extension provided is also representative of the amount of
material in scope of your request which requires the searching through a large quantity of
information.
Please note that this extension takes into account the period from 25 December 2024 to 15
January 2025 (inclusive) which does not count as ‘working days’. For further information
please refer to:
Ombudsman New Zealand | Tari o te Kaitiaki Mana Tangata
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act to make a complaint to
an Ombudsman about the extension.
