Thank  you  for  your  email  of  5 December  2024,  requesting  information  from  Te  Pūkenga  –  New
Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (Te Pūkenga):
In response to our Notification of Extension letter,  dated  5 December 2024, regarding your OIA
request dated 14 November 2024, reference TP240142, you have requested:
… all documentation and correspondence relating to my current and very specific request for the
document known to be held by Te Pūkenga…
This letter provides a formal decision on your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
The decision
The information you have requested is attached at Appendix One and includes emails and documents
in relation to your OIA request reference TP240142 between the period 14 November and the date
of your request, 5 December (inclusive).
We note there is a little duplication within the documents due to the repeat of some individual emails
within resulting email threads; for completeness we have not removed any duplicates.
Certain information has been withheld from the emails under the fol owing sections of the OIA:
•  9(2)(a) to protect the privacy of natural persons
•  9(2)(ba)(i) to protect information which is subject to an obligation of confidence or which any
person has been or could be compel ed to provide under the authority of any enactment, where
the making available of the information would be likely to prejudice the supply  of similar
information, or information from the same source, and it is in the public interest that such
information should continue to be supplied.
We do not believe the need to withhold this information under section 9 of the OIA is outweighed by
the public interest in its release at this time.

Extension
Taking into consideration all of the points above and to allow enough time for them to be
actioned, the proposed extension is for 13 working days.
This brings us to the same due date as TP240140. As the report is being considered for
release for both requests, we consider it appropriate to have the same extended due date
for both.
We note that the extension period is close to the Christmas shutdown period for working
days within the OIA, but also likely shutdown of agencies we need to consult with that
may involve specific kaimahi at each agency.
We consider the best option is to extend for a longer period of time and provide our
response early if we can, than extend for too short a period and not have enough time for
completion of all necessary consultations.
Due to the Christmas OIA shutdown period, the extension will take us to a final due date
