Dear John Luke,
I refer to your email of 23 July 2025 requesting, under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the
Act), the following information regarding various boards:
‘The name of each board. The terms of reference for each board. Are there any boards
where member terms have expired this year? If so, please provide the name of the
board(s) and the number of members whose terms have expired.’
Three of the boards are the responsibility of the Minister for Veterans, and the part of your
request relating to these boards was transferred to the Office of the Minister of Veterans in
accordance with section 14 of the Act.
The three boards that I am responsible for the appointments of are: The Veteran’s Advisory
Board, The Veteran’s Entitlements Appeals Board, and The Veteran’s Health Advisory
Panel. The terms of reference for the three boards are enclosed.
One appointed member of the Veteran’s Health Advisory panel’s position expired during the
last year. Three other vacant positions on this board remain vacant. This is the only board
that had expired appointments in the last year.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Act, to file a complaint with the Ombudsman
regarding this response.
Kind regards,
Hon Chris Penk
Minister for Veterans
