Tēnā koe Meredith
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 19 October 2024,
seeking:
minutes of the EGL Mid central Leadership group meetings from May 2023 to
current
Your request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA, as the information requested
is not held by Disability Support Services (DSS) or Whaikaha – the Ministry of
Disabled People (the Ministry).
The Ministry and DSS do not hold the meeting notes or minutes of the Mid-Central
Regional Leadership Group (RLG). This is because regional leadership groups,
comprising of disabled people, family members and service providers, have been
formed to be independent of the Ministry and DSS.
The National Enabling Good Lives Leadership Group has developed some
guidance on the role and responsibilities of the regional leadership groups,
including the Mid-Central RLG. You can find out more about this through
the Enabling Good Lives website:
Guidance on developing EGL Regional
Leadership Groups - Enabling Good Lives
The MidCentral RLG meets on a monthly basis, to addresses challenges and
opportunities from the community, engage in discussion regarding feedback and
celebrates achievements.
These meetings provide an opportunity to share these insights and
recommendations with Mana Whaikaha, fostering a collaborative approach to
addressing community needs.
You may wish to consider writing directly to the Mid-Central RLG to request a copy of
their meeting minutes.
If you are not satisfied with this response, you have the right to seek an investigation
and review by the Ombudsman. Information about how to make a complaint is
available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or 0800 802 602.
Ngā mihi nui
