Re: Cost of Fairy Fal s upgrade
Thank you for your email dated 14 October 2024, in which you requested information costs
relating to Fairy Falls track. The specific details of your request and our response are below.
1. How much did the new board-walks, steps, bridge and associated structures
on the Fairy Falls track cost?
Project costs for the upgrade of Fairy Falls track totalled $1,468,001.58. The site’s steep
terrain required materials to be transported via helicopter, adding to the complexity of the
project. Additionally, the numerous steps, stairs, and amount of physical structure needed to
ensure the track's longevity are key factors contributing to the overall cost.
Please refer to the below table for the breakdown of the costs relating to the construction of
the Fairy Falls track.

We are unable to provide material and wage costs provided through Jobs for Nature as the
employees moved between multiple sites over time and compiling the costs would require
extensive manual collation and review of numerous claim files.
The only additional material cost (to what has already been provided above) for completion
of that section is for a gravel delivery. The final cost is stil to be confirmed but is
approximately $2600.00. Some adhoc materials were used from our workshop stores (e.g.
culvert pipe, timber) however these are bulk purchased, and we do not record the volumes
used per track.
