Official Information Act request: Contracts between MOJ and Community Law
Canterbury
Thank you for your email to the Ministry of Justice (the Ministry) of 9 October 2024,
requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), information relating to contracts
between MOJ and Community Law Canterbury. Specifically, you requested:
1. A copy of the current contracts (including any amendments) between the Ministry
of Justice and Community Law Canterbury/Te Ture Whanui O Waitaha Incorporated.
This includes, but is not limited to, the general legal services contract and the Family
Legal Advice and Information Service contract.
2. Information relating to any audits undertaken by the MOJ to ensure contracted
targets are being met.
3. Information on any other steps taken by MOJ to ensure information provided by
Community Law Canterbury is accurate.
Pursuant to section 15(1) of the Act, the Ministry has decided to grant your request.
However, it wil take us some time to prepare the information for release. We wil send you
the information by no later than 29 November 2024. There are five documents being
prepared for release by the Ministry. Some information is withheld under section 9(2)(a) to
protect the privacy of natural persons; and some information is withheld under section
9(2)(ba)(i) to protect information subject to an obligation of confidence as its release would
prejudice the supply of similar information. I apologise for any inconvenience this delay may
cause you.
