Thank you for your email of 7 October 2024 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council (the
Council) requesting the following information:
1. Total interest costs for third quarter 2024
2. Al of the applications to LGFA for loans this year in 2024 - to include dates, amounts,
paperwork, supporting docs etc etc - any and all paperwork that is submitted to the LGFA
where you are asking for money
Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act
1987 (LGOIMA).
The net interest costs for the Council for quarter three of 2024 calendar year (quarter one of the
2024/25 financial year) is $17 mil ion.
In respect of question two, the level of detail requested can not be released as the information
contains commercially sensitive information, therefore I am refusing the request pursuant to section
7(2)(b)(ii) of the LGOIMA, to protect information where the making available of the information would
be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or is the
subject of the information.
A high-level summary of the information requested in question two wil be available in 2023/24 Annual
Report. I note that a draft version of the report is now publicly available on page 225 of the agenda -
Agenda of Kōrau Tōtōpū | Long-term Plan, Finance, and Performance Committee - Tuesday, 29
October 2024. We wil be formally publishing this annual report by 2 December. I am further refusing
this portion of your request pursuant to section 17(d) of the LGOIMA, as the information requested is
or wil soon be publicly available.
As per section 7(1) of the LGOIMA, I do not consider that in the circumstances of this response, the
withholding of this information is outweighed by the other considerations which render it desirable to
in the public interest to make the information available.
You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(1) of the LGOIMA, to request an
investigation and review of the Council’s decision to withhold and refuse information by the
